Digital Camera Memory Card Trouble

Having trouble with your camera's memory card? Here's a few reasons why and solutions too.

Bad memory card - damage to the connectors or simply a faulty card.

If you're done viewing images on the computer, it is not well enough to delete images from the computer settings. It's highly recommended to also format the card in the camera for a clean wipe.

Turning your camera off and on too quickly before the image can transfer from the internal camera buffer to the card. This can cause a corruption. After taking an image, give the camera a few seconds before turing it off.

Be sure camera if OFF before removing the memory card.

Took a few (or a lot) of images and now my camera tells me something is wrong and asks me to format card. Don't format! Change to another card and continue the fun. Chances are the images may be recovered prior to the corruption event.

Oppps, I formatted my card and lost the images. All is not lost! The images stand good chance of being recovered at Crivello Camera Center in Brookfield, WI.

Keeping It Upscale

A live band was contracted for this particular wedding reception which was held at an upscale dinner club, but who would have thought the band members would arrive and perform in what was inappropriately casual clothing? Brides & grooms, it's not a bad idea to communicate your expectation of appropriate dress with all the hired services before the event.

Two Photographers VS One

The date is set and certainly you plan to hire a photographer. Have you considered having two photographers? After all, it will be your photographs that will retell your wedding or special gathering for a lifetime.

Reasons for hiring two photographers:

1. You get more angles and perspectives at any moment which means more choices for you.  No matter how amazing the person, they can’t take photographs from more than one place.

2. Two photographers can be in two different places. During pre-ceremony activities, wouldn’t you like to have pictures of the bride with her bridesmaids as well as the groom with his groomsmen?

3. There is safety in numbers. Safety should be a major concern. What would happen if your photographer had an equipment failure? Sure, any professional photographer should carry backup equipment. But the moments may very well be lost before the backup equipment is up and ready.

4. Hire a male/female team. Ladies, wouldn’t you feel more comfortable in your dressing room with a female photographer and likewise a male photographer for the groom's room?

Budgeting Your Wedding

Yes, all brides want "pretty pictures"; but when budget crunch time comes, photography is often an area where bride and groom get tempted to cut corners.

Bride Huffman says "don't do it" and sums it up best by sharing what she says to friends who "have a friend with a pretty good camera": "You only get married once so don't trust it to - good enough." You can budget the rest of your wedding and still do phenomenal things. Maybe instead of a five-course meal, you could have hors d'oeuvres; but don't cut the budget on photography. No one's going to say they had a bad time at your wedding because the linens were cotton, not silk. But you WILL look back at your photographs."

High School Seniors

In 2012 we've enjoyed quite a few High School Senior Portraits Sessions.

When initially considering getting into
High School Senior Portraits, I felt resistant. Assuming (word that usually bites you in the you-know-what), the seniors would desire glamore and not the reflection of who they truly are.

To report, I was pleasantly surprised to meet such a nice group of young people and pleasured to take their portraits. Class of 2013, you better the world we live in. Thank you for stretching my mind!
